London, Jan 11 (ANI): Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is trying to take defender Nedum Onuoha on loan from Manchester City to strengthen his club's defences.

The Liverpool boss wants to strengthen the defence line to help his team back in the race for a Champions League spot.

Onuoha (23) recently returned to first-team action, playing in the 4-3 win over Sunderland that proved to be Mark Hughes' last game in charge as manager, The Sun reports. (ANI)
