TNHA backs Jothikumaran

Madurai, Apr 27 (UNI) The emergency Executive Committee meeting of the Tamil Nadu Hockey Association (TNHA) convened here today strongly condemned the recent ''fabricated'' sting operation by Aaj Tak.

The private satellite channel had shown Indian Hockey Federation (IHF) Secretary-General K Jothikumaran as accepting money for including a player in the senior hockey team for the Azlan Shah Hockey Tournament scheduled for next month.

The meeting, presided over by TNHA Vice President and Olympian V Baskaran, unanimously stated that the TNHA reposed full confidence in Mr Jothikumaran.

Mr Jothikumaran had quit his post after the TV expose.

Of the 26 affiliated units of the TNHA, 22 attended the meeting, which also discussed the future plans for the development of hockey in the state.
