TN enters semi-final of Moin-Ud-Dowla tourney

Hyderabad, Sep 13 (UNI) Tamil Nadu entered the semifinals of All India Moin-Ud-Dowla Gold Cup cricket tournament here today, defeating Karnataka by four wickets.

After three washed-away matches at Gymkhana Grounds, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka agreed to play a one-dayer at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium here.

Karnataka, after electing to bat, scored 205 for eight in 50 overs. Deepak Chowgule topped with 76 runs off 103 balls, followed by S Shinde with 45 runs off 59 balls.

For Tamil Nadu M R Srinivas was thepick up of the bowlers picking up 3 for 31, followed by Ashwin who picked up two for 34.

In reply, Tamil Nadu scored 210 for 6 in 46 overs. Vidyuth Sivaramakrishnan was the top scorer cracking 72 off 103 balls.

Vinu Prasad took two wickets for 46 for Karnataka.

The semi-finals will be played between Tamilnadu and Saurashtra at Rajiv Stadium, and IOCL and Madhya Pradesh at NFC Ground from September 14-16.
