TN CM presents cheque for Rs 10 lakh to powerlifter Anbu

Chennai, Jul 12 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today presented a cheque for Rs ten lakh to powerlifter N Anbu, who had won several medals in the national and world meets.

An official release said ''Mr Karunanidhi presented the cheque to Anbu, who had brought laurels to the State by winning 15 golds, three silvers and two bronze medals in various events, at the State Secretariat here.'' The release said the assistance would encourage Anbu, who had bagged the overall title in the national championship in Kerala last year, to perform better in future meets.
