Tiwary has to undergo surgery on right shoulder

Mumbai, May 12 (UNI) Young talented batsman from Bengal Manoj Tiwary, will have to undergo surgery on his right shoulder after scans today revealed a tear, ruling him out of cricket for three to four weeks.

Tiwary, who picked up the injury during a fielding practice session before the first ODI against Bangladesh, will be operated on May 14, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said in a release here.

The release further stated that MRI scans were conducted on Tiwary here which revealed ''a tear of antero inferior labrum.'' The young cricketer was examined by Dr Anant Joshi, who will be carrying out the arthroscopic surgery as well.

''Post surgery, he is likely to be in a sling for three to four weeks and will then require rehab before full function can be achieved,'' the release further said.
