Thyagarajan elected as AHF Media Committee Chairman

Chennai, Mar 28 (UNI) For the third year in succession, Mr S Thyagarajan, Associate Editor, Sports and Hockey Correspondent of The Hindu, has been nominated as Chairman of the Media and Public Relations Committee in the Asian Hockey Federation.

Mr Thyagarajan was first elected as member of the Committee in 1986 Asian Games at Seoul.

A former chairman of the Field Hockey Commission in the AIPS, Mr Thyagarajan is currently serving the third term as member of the Communications Committee of the International Hockey Federation (FIH).

Mr Thyagarajan's nomination and that of the other members have been approved by Sultan Azlan Shah, President, Asian Hockey Federation, an official release said here today.

The members of the committee are: Secretary: S Ramaguru (The Star, Malaysia), Committee: Syed Akhtar Siraje, Aminul Haque Modik (Bangladesh), Liu Yuxiang (China), M Fukiwara (Japan), Shin Hyun Joo, Yang Siong Jin (Korea), Jagjit Singh (Malaysia), U Khin Maung Latt (Myanmar), Gamini Jayasinghe (Sri Lanka) and Suresh Sharma (India).
