Three-year ban on Kamaldeep, Maninder, Tejbir; life ban from PHL
Chandigarh, Mar 14 (UNI) Sher-e-Jalandhar goalkeepers Kamaldeep Singh and Maninder Singh and forward Tejbir Singh were today handed three-year bans from domestic and interntional hockey competitions for roughing up umpire Satinder Sharma in a PHL final match here on March 5.
Indian Hockey Federation secretary general K Jyothikumaran told UNI over phone from Chennai that the three players will also be banned from participation in future Premier Hockey Leagues.
The Sher trio were earlier suspended pending a probe after they roughed up international referee Satinder Sharma during the third and deciding best-of-three finals of the Premier Hockey League III played at the Sector 42 Hockey Stadium here on March 5.
