Three national swimming records created, Khade sets new record
Bhopal, July 6 (UNI) Veerdhaval Khade of Maharashtra created a new national record in 400 metre freestyle event during the 32nd Junior National Aquatic Championship, which passed into the third day today.
Winning his boys' group-I 400 metre freestyle event with a timing of 04:10:06, Kahde overhauled Rohit Hawaldar's.
Karnataka 04:11:05 set last year.
Karnataka and Maharashtra dominated the event taking place in Prakash Tarun Pushkar with two new national records being created today.
Maharashtra's Surabhi Tipare created a new record in 400 metre freestyle event with a timing of 04:32:30 overwriting the previous record set by Ghorpade (04:48:70) two years back.
In 50 metre breast stroke girl's event, Maharashtra's Purva Shete made a new record with a timing of 00:37:48, breaking the previous record of 00:38:43 by West Bengal's Monalisa Mandal.
In water polo sports, Maharashtra and Karnataka emerged winners in boys event, while Kerala and West Bengal won the girls event.
