Three-day Sub Junior Boxing championship begins on Dec 27

Chennai, Dec 24 (UNI) For the first time, the South Zone sub-junior boxing championship has been instituted and it would be held here from December 27 to 29.

About 150 future hopefuls would slug it out during the three-day event, to be held for five age groups and 30 weight categories each in boys and girls.

Events would be held in age group of 12-13, 13-14, 14-15, 15-16 and 16-17.

Boxers from Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Puducherry, besides pugilists from Andaman and Nicobar would be seen in action during the tournament to be conducted by the Singaram Boxing Academy at the Singaram Pillai School campus, Tamil Nadu State Amateur Boxing Association Secretary A K Karunakaran said today.
