Tara Iyer lifts second title in two weeks

New Delhi, Aug 31 (UNI) Tara Iyer lifted her second title in as many weeks, defeating Kyung-Yee Chae of Korea in straight sets in the final of the ITF women's tennis tournament here today.

The third seeded Indian, who had won the ITF title in Noida last week, won 7-5, 6-2 over the unseeded Korean in the 10,000 dollar event.

Earlier yesterday, Iyer had won the doubles title also, pairing with Nungnadda Wannasuk of Thailand.

The third seeded Indo-Thai pair had beaten fourth seeded Thai duo of Sophia Mulsap and Varatchaya Wongteanchai 6-4, 6-3 in the final.

Result (Final): Tara Iyer (IND) beat Kyung-Yee Chae (KOR) 7-5, 6-2 UNI PDS VD HS2010
