TAA conducts a training-cum-talent search camp
Bhubaneswar, Sep 2 (UNI) Tata Archery Academy(TAA) for the first time is going to conduct a 15-day long training-cum-talent search camp at Indira Gandhi ground in Jajpur district.
TATA steel sources here said Arjun award winner Sanjeeva Singh will impart training to about one hundred trainees during the camp that would be held from September 4 to 19 at Duburi in Orissa.
The objective of the programme is not only to spot archery potential in the predominantly tribal areas, but also to generate interest for the sports in the state.
TAA inducts boys and girls in the age group of 13 to 18 for the four year course after a selection process, carried out all over the country and extends the training on the basis of their performance.
During the four year training the cadets are also imparted formal education, the company sources said.
