Symonds victim of racial abuse, alleges Australian management
Vadadora, Oct 11 (UNI) Australian all-rounder Andrew Symonds was the victim of racial abuse while fielding during the fifth One-Day International (ODI) between India and Australia, played at the Reliance Cricket ground here today.
Australian media manager Philip Pope told UNI that ''A section of the crowd allegedly made some monkey imitation at Symonds while he was fielding near the boundary line.'' Pope further said, ''We have lodged a complaint with the Indian cricket board and the local Baroda Cricket Association about the same. ''We, however, do not intend to take up the matter further, and hopefully, the Indian cricket board will take corrective action during the next two matches,'' he said.
