Swimming-Australian Jones completes breaststroke double
MELBOURNE, March 30 (Reuters) Australia's Leisel Jones led from start to finish to win the women's 200 metres breaststroke final at the world swimming championships today.
The 21-year-old Queenslander stopped the clock at two minutes 21.84 seconds, the third fastest swim in history but outside the world record of 2:20.54 she set at last year's Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.
American Megan Jendrick dead-heated with Britain's Kirsty Balfour for the silver medal in 2:25.94.
Jones also won the 100 breaststroke on Tuesday and became the first person to win the 100-200 double at successive championships after her twin victories in Montreal in 2005.
She is also entered in the 50 in Melbourne and chasing a possible fourth gold medal in the medley relay.
