State braces up for SAARC Car Rally

Dehradun, 16 Jan (UNI) Uttarakhand Admininstration is bracing up for SAARC Car Rally that would enter the state from Nepal through Banbasa, Champawat district on March 27 and would head towards Ponta Sahib, Himachal Pradesh.

State Chief Secretary S K Das has asked concerned authorities to prepare themselves to make the rally a successful one in the state. In a meeting held here today he asked the authorities to arrange for the parking of 35 participating cars, lodging and boarding of the participants.

He also directed the Health Department to prepare the list of the hospitals falling in rally route and arrange for sufficient doctors, life saving medicines, ambulances and other requisite medical facilities.

Mr Das informed that the rally would be accorded traditional welcome at Banbasa and cultural programmes would be presented at Ramnagar that would portray the culture and tradition of Uttarakhand.
