Stage set for Senior National Softball

Chandigarh, Jun 23 (UNI) The Chandigarh Softball Association has finalised all arrangements for the proper and smooth conduct of the 30th Senior National Softball Championships to be conducted at the Panjab University Campus here from June 25 to 30.

Twenty four men's and 20 women's teams have sent their confirmation for their participation in Senior Nationals. Punjab men and women will be defending titles they had claimed at Cuttack last year.

According to CSA president SS Dhillon, various committees had been formed. Panjab University Vice Chancellor Prof RP Sobti will be the chief guest and inaugurate the Nationals on June 25.

Minister of State for Finance Pawan Kumar Bansal will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony and distribute the prizes on June 30, he informed.

CSA secretary Roop Lal Sharma said Lokshman Gehlot had been appointed chairman of the technical committee. The teams would start arriving tomorrow.

Draw and pooling will also be finalised tomorrow.
