Sports minister Mani Shankar condoles Sardesai's death

New Delhi, July 3 (UNI) Minister for Yourth Affairs and Sports Mani Shankar Aiyar today condoled the death of former Test cricketer Dilip Sardesai.

''I am deeply saddened at the passing away of legendary cricketer, Dilip Sardesai, in Mumbai yesterday. His death is a great loss to the cricketing world and to the nation. The cricketing fraternity and his fans will fondly remember his exploits on the cricket field which brought him and his country glory,'' Mr Aiyar said in a statement.

''I pray to the Almighty to grant peace to the departed soul and courage to his family to bear this great loss,''he added.
