Sports Minister gives away special cash awards to Olympic heroes

New Delhi, Sep 18 (UNI) Olympic heroes Abhinav Bindra, Vijender Singh and Sushil Kumar were today handed special cash awards by the Sports Ministry for their splendid performance at the Beijing Olympics last month.

Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports MS Gill gave away Rs 50 lakh to Abhinav for winning gold medal in men's 10 meters air rifle event.

Sushil Kumar and Vijender Singh were given Rs 20 lakh each for winning bronze in men's freestyle wrestling and men's middle weight boxing respectively in Beijing.
