Sports Medicine Centres in Kerala: Minister

Thiruvananthapuram, July 18 (UNI) Kerala Sports and Youth Affairs Minister M Vijayakumar today told the Assembly that the government was planning to start Sports Medicine Centres in the state.

In a written reply to Mr C H Kunhambu (CPM) and others, he said discussions were on to start such centres jointly with medical colleges in Kozhikode and Kottayam.

The government was also planning to expand the project to all district hospitals.

It was also considering whether Ayurvedic treatment could also be made available in these centres, he said and added it had no information whether similar centres were functionig in other states.
