Sporting club de Goa to take on hosts TFA in final

Jamshedpur, Sep 18 (UNI) Hosts Tata Football Academy today defeated Mohun Bagan 7-6 through a tie-breaker in the keenly contested second semi-final of the fifth junior (under 19) football tournament for I-league second division teams.

The TFA will now take on Sporting club de Goa in the finals tomorrow. In the second semi-fianl played at JRD Stadium here, TFA and Mohun Bagan were 1-1 in the stipulated 90 minutes game.

During extra time also both the teams scored one goal each to remain tied at 2-2. However, during the tie-breaker TFA scored five goals out of six attempts whereas Mohun Bagan could score only four.

TFA has remained unbeatable in the tournament organised by Indian Football Federation in association with Tata steel. Sporting Club defeated Dempo 3-2 in the first semi-final yesterday.
