South Korea beat Indonesia 1-0 to make Asian Cup quarters
JAKARTA, July 18 (Reuters) South Korea scraped through to the Asian Cup quarter-finals with a fraught 1-0 win over Indonesia today.
The Koreans, bottom of Group D going into the final round of fixtures, took the lead in the 34th minute through Kim Jung-woo's deflected strike.
The 2002 World Cup semi-finalists were the stronger team throughout at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta but were made to sweat in a torrid second half after missing a series of golden opportunities.
South Korea travel to Malaysia for a quarter-final against the Group C winners, while Group D winners Saudi Arabia meet the runners-up.
