Sourav Saha finishes 6th among cadet boys in Asian jr TT meet

New Delhi, July 30 (UNI) Sourav Saha finished sixth in the cadet Boys category of the 13th Asian Junior Table Tennis Championships which concluded today at Hoengseong, Korea.

In the first round of position five to eight playoff, Saha beat Kim Ji Hwan of Korea 3-2 (11-8, 5-11, 9-11, 11-9, 11-7).

But in the final playoff match for position five and sixth, Saha lost to Machi Asuka of Japan 2-3 (11-6, 10-12, 7-11, 14-12, 6-11) and finished sixth.

He may likely to qualify for the Cadet Boys' event of the 2007 ITTF World Junior Championship Finals and World Cadet Challenge to be held at Cape Town, South Africa from October 23 to 28, a TTFI statement said.

The Indian team will arrive here tomorrow night.
