Sodhi misses bronze,Rathore finishes 23rd in shooting World Cup
New Delhi, June 12 (UNI) Olympic silver medallist Rajyavardhan Rathore finished a disappointing 23rd while Ronjan Sodhi narrowly missed the bronze by a point in the men's double trap final at the ISSF World Cup in Lonato, Italy.
Sodhi shot 186 (141+45) with a series of 48,48 and 45 in the qualifications while Rathore, participating in a competition after a gap of five months, failed to qualify for the final round with a score of 134 (44,44,46) in the qualification round.
The third Indian in the fray, Moraad Ali Khan, shot a score of 132 (44,47,41) to finish 32nd in a field of 67 shooters.
In the MQS section, promising shooter Mohd Asab shot 132 (46,42,44) while the second Indian Ashok Mittal could score 114 (34,43,37), according to information received here today.
The gold and the olympic quota in this event was won by 21-year-old Richmond Joshua of USA with a score of 191 (142+49). The silver went to Fokeev Vitaly of Russia with a score of 188 (140+48) while Di Spigno Daniele of Italy won the bronze with a score of 187 (139+48).
