Six foreign teams to participate in Governor's Gold Cup

Gangtok, Oct 17 (UNI) Six foreign clubs, including an all Nigerian team, are among the sixteen clubs expected to take part in the 29th All India Governor's Gold Cup Football tournament to be held from October 27 at Paljor stadium here.

Nigerian Eagles, top two clubs from Nepal (NRT and Three Star), two from Bangladesh (Chittagaon Abahoni and Badda Jagarani Sangshad) and Bhutan XI, said Sikkim Football Association president Tempo Bhutia.

Other participating teams are Punjab XI, Mumbai United, Assam State Electricity Board and Manipur XI.

Big clubs like Mohan Bagan and defending champions Air India, Mumbai, could not make it because of the ongoing Durand Cup and other AIFF tournaments, said Bhutia.
