Singapore's Ning Gao

Jaipur, June 5 (UNI) Singapore dominated the 17th Commonwealth Table Tennis Championship here, sweeping four out of five titles on offer, as top seed Ning Gao and second seed Bei Bei Sun annexed the men's and women's singles crown which concluded at the SMS Indoor stadium today.

Singapore has virtually established their superiority in the game in the championship, with their men's team snatching the title from hosts India and retaining women's team crown.

Only Nigeria stopped them from making a clean sweep as their men's doubles combination earned the top spot.

True to his ranking, Ning Gao, ranked 25 in the world, displayed a controlled game and trounced his teammate Zi Yang in a five set encounter 6-11, 11-7, 11-8, 11-6, 11-7, while Bei Bei Sun stunned top seed Yue Gu Wang 11-3, 10-12, 8-11, 11-7, 13-11, 11-3 in an all Singapore final.
