Shubhankar leads in Haryana Open golf

Gurgaon, Feb 8 (PTI) Shubhankar Sharma recovered from ahorrendous front nine to hole four birdies on the back nineand card a two-over 74 in the first round of the Haryana Open(NZ qualifier) on the IGU Amateur Tour here today.

It gave him a one-shot lead over Surya Jai Prakash (75),as none of the players managed to break par. Arshad Ali wasalso tied second at 75.

A total of 86 golfers teed off on a foggy morning, whenplay was delayed till 8.45 am.

The top 32 players from the event will qualify for NCRCup and the top 50 go through for the Northern Indian Amateurtournament.
