Shot putter Inderjeet Singh fails dope test again, B sample too tests positive
New Delhi, Aug 2: A day after wrestler Narsingh Yadav was given clean chit from National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA), India's Rio-bound shot putter, Inderjeet Singh, failed to clear the dope test for the second time.
As Inderjeet's 'B' sample too tested positive of banned substance, this puts an end to the 28-year-old athlete's chances of appearing in Rio Olympics.

Inderjeet, the reigning Asian Champion, tested positive for a banned steroid. His out-of-competition test was done on June 22. (Shot putter Inderjeet Singh fails dope test)
The NADA has asked the Haryana athlete, who had won a silver in the 2014 Asian Games, to test his 'B' sample within seven days.
Now that the 'B' sample also tested positive, he will have to miss Rio Olympics beginning August 5, besides facing the prospect of being banned for four years under the new WADA Code.
Inderjeet was one of the first track and field athletes who qualified for the Rio Olympics as he made the cut last year itself. But this development has brought huge embarrassment to India.
