Shiv leaps to second spot in Asian Tour Order of Merit
Kuala Lumpur, Feb 20 (UNI) The joint runner-up finish at last week's Enjoy Jakarta Astro Indonesia Open has seen Shiv Kapur rise to the second spot in the Asian Tour UBS Order of Merit.
Shiv, who was the 2005 Asian Tour's Rookie of the Year, has earnings of 97,876 dollars this season.
''I am playing really well this year and it's been good for me. I will be doing a lot of traveling between here and Europe. I have set goals in both regions but my main aim in Asia is definitely to try and win the UBS Order of Merit title,'' he said.
The next Indian in the list is Kolkata-pro SSP Chowrasia at 16th with earnings of 32,626 dollars. With 30, 893 dollars in his kitty, Jeev Milkha Singh lies at the 20th spot.
Meanwhile, Filipino legend Frankie Minoza is a man on a mission after moving up to the number one spot on the Asian Tour's UBS Order of Merit.
Minoza, who won the Philippine Open title three weeks ago, almost nailed his second win this season in the Enjoy Jakarta Astro Indonesia Open after being in contention right to the very end but the cool Filipino finished a commendable second place and took home 78,296 dollars.
The result drove him to the top of the UBS Order of Merit ranking after a total earning of 147,156 dollars this season.
