Shers trounce Chennai Veerans

Chandigarh, Feb 23 (UNI) Title contenders Sher-e-Jalandhar trounced Chennai Veerans 6-0 for their fifth win out of 10 matches in the Premier Hockey League at the Hockey Stadium here today.

Shers are now at the second position with 20 points behind Orissa Steelers (22 points). Veerans have so far collected 13 points from 10 encounters.

Olympian Gagan Ajit Singh (20th, 41st, 67th), Tejbir Singh (47th, 57th) and Kanwalpreet Singh (62nd, penalty corner) were the goal-getters for the winners.

Tejbir Singh was declared the Lion of the Match.
