Sher-A-Jalandar registers fourth win

Chennai, Feb 4 (UNI) Sher-A-Jalandar registered fourth win edging out Chennai Veeran 2-1 in the ESPN-BSNL Premier Hockey League, the first phase of which concluded here today.

Sher-A-Jalandar went into the lead in the 31st minute through a field goal by Jarnail Singh. They increased the lead, enjoying domination in the attack, through former Indian captain Gagan Ajith Singh in the 55th minute.

The Veerans managed to reduce the margin in the 61st minute when Somanna found the target.

The Jalandar team completed their engagements with 14 points from 6 matches, including four wins and the Veerans had seven points.

The second phase of the league would begin in Chandigarh from Febrauary 9.
