Sharath Kamal grabs fourth consecutive title

New Delhi, Aug 28 (UNI) Commonwealth Games Gold medalist Achanta Sharath Kamal (PSPB) outplayed Subhajit Saha (PSPB) 11-7, 11-8, 9-11, 13-11, 13-11 to lift the title at the 37th All India Inter Institutional Table Tennis Championships here today.

With today's win Sharath Kamal has lifted the title for the fourth consecutive year.

Speaking to news persons after his win, Sharath Kamal said, ''I was really playing well since morning. I was at my best again against Anirban Nandi in the semi finals and I knew that I will be repeating the same performance in the final also.'' ''My backhand was working really good for me in the final.

''It was my plus point apart from that my forehand was well and I was hitting the ball very hard,'' Sharath Kamal said.

Neha was elated by her performance and said, ''It was my best performance in the domestic circuit. I was more focussed on my match today but did not make any strategy for the game.

''It will act as a confidence booster for me at the start of the season,'' she added.

Results: Men's Singles Championships Final: PSPB beat PSPB (4-1) A Sharath Kamal beat Subhajit Saha 11-7, 11-8, 9-11, 13-11, 13-11 Women's Singles Championships Final: Delhi beat BSB (4-0) Neha Agarwal beat Monty Ghosh 11-7, 11-9, 11-6, 11-6.
