Sharath Kamal enters Men's event final

Rajkot, Feb 4 (UNI) Commonwealth Games gold medallist A Sharath Kamal of Indian Oil Corporation IOCL rallied from three games down to defeat Oil India Limited's (OIL) A Kashyap and make it to the final of men's category event in 27th PSPB Inter Unit Table Tennis Tournament at the Rajkot Municipal Corporation indoor stadium here.

Kamal beat Kashyap 11-8, 8-11, 8-11, 8-11, 11-7, 11-5 and 11-8 to enter the final in a marathon battle.

In another semi-final of men's category, S Raman of IOCL defeated his collegaue S Roy by 11-6, 11-9, 11-7 and 11-7.

In veteran's double semi-final, I D Burthal and R Saxena of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) beat A Setia and Tripathi of IOCL by 11-9, 10-12, 11-5, 11-9 to enter the final.

In another double semi-final, G S Matharu and Ravi of EIL defeated Amit and D K Sinha of ONGC by 11/6, 10/12, 13/11 and 11/9.

Veteran single semi-final result: A K Setia of IOCL beat S K Tripathi of IOCL by 11-6, 6-11, 11-5 and 11-8.

Second veteran single semi-final result: Rajesh Saxena of ONGC defeated G S Mathur of EIL by 11-6, 11-5 and 11-7.

Women's double semi-final result: Madhurika and Swarna of ONGC beat Mouma Das and Nandita Saha of OIL by 11-7, 11-9 and 12-10.

Second women's double semi-final result: Vishakha Vijay and Mausami Paul of ONGC defeated BPCL's Paulomi Ghatak and Sushmita Rey by 11-9, 12-10 and 11-8.
