Services meet Uttaranchal in Basketball final

Guwahati, Feb 17 (UNI) Services will meet favourites Uttaranchal in the men's basketball final while Chhattisgarh clash with Tamil Nadu for gold in the women's section in the 33rd National Games here.

In a nail-biting semi-final today, Services defeated Punjab 70-68 while Uttaranchal found an easy opponent in Kerela to walk away with a 103-80 victory.

In the women's semi-final, Chhattisgarh overcame tough challenge from Maharashtra 80-77 while Tamil Nadu defeated Delhi comprehensively 80-54.

Punjab started the men's semi-final with a bang dominating the first quarter, but Services came back strongly in the second and fourth quarters to edge out their rivals by two points.

Uttarnchal did not have much problem with Kerela, as they dominated the proceedings and did not allow Kerala to come back in the match.
