Nikola Jokic Leads Serbia To Record Olympic Comeback Against Australia
Serbia achieved a historic comeback in Olympic basketball by defeating Australia 95-90 in overtime. Nikola Jokic led the charge with 21 points, 14 rebounds, and eight assists. This victory overturned a 24-point deficit in Tuesday's quarter-final match.
Despite trailing by 24 points after just 13 minutes, Serbia's impressive third-quarter performance saw them take the lead. Bogdan Bogdanovic also contributed significantly with 17 points, five rebounds, and six assists. Australia's efforts forced the game into overtime at 78-78, but Serbia proved too strong in the extra period.

Serbia's comeback is now recorded as the largest in Olympic basketball history. They will face either the reigning Olympic champions United States or Brazil in the semi-finals.
In another quarter-final match, Germany defeated Greece 76-63 to reach their first-ever Olympic semi-finals. Despite Giannis Antetokounmpo scoring 22 points for Greece, Germany remained unbeaten in the competition. Franz Wagner's 20 points were crucial in overcoming a 12-point deficit.
"I think it speaks to our maturity," Wagner said. "We even talked about it at half-time; not everything's going to go perfect all the time. So you kind of recover from that and adjust and react. I thought we did a good job of responding."
The Germans will now face the winner of France versus Canada in their semi-final clash.
