Senior State Basketball Championship from Oct 27

Kottayam, Oct 24 (UNI) The 53rd State Senior Basketball Championship for men and women will be held here from October 27 to November 2.

At a news conference here today, Organising Committee Chairman C Abraham Ittycheria and Organising Secretary K K John said the men's teams from 14 districts and women teams from 10 districts would participate in the championship.

Mr V N Vasavan, MLA, would inaugurate the championship. Mr Suresh Kurup, MP, would inaugurate the newly-constructed Basketball Stadium on October 25.

A women's exhibition match would be held as part of the inaugural ceremony of the stadium.
