Saurav looking forward to do well in coming series
Bangalore, Jun 16 (UNI) Maintaining that performance on the pitches in England would be noticed worldwide, former India skipper Sourav Ganguly, hoped to do well in the coming Ireland and England series.
Talking to newspersons here after visiting a showroom of Puma Sports India, today Ganguly said playing in England always would be the best experience for anybody and going there to play both One-day and Test matches sans a coach adds more responsibility.
However, Ganguly said the absence of a coach does not make much of a differenc as he always believed that the captain was the key man to steer the team to success.
On Rahul Dravid's capability, Ganguly said he had played more than 400 matches for the country and had enough cricket under his belt. ''I am sure Sachin Tendulkar being the vice captain, both know the requirements for the team's victory.'' he added.
On the England team Ganguly said they were a good side, but would miss the serivces of andrew Flintoff, a key player in their attack.
Lauding the performance of left arm spinner Monty Panesar, Ganguly said he had performed consistently well and won matches for England.
''Monty's performance against West Indies, was impressive.'' However, Ganguly said he had played with Monty last year in county matches and found no problem in facing him.
Asked whether his best was yet to come, Saurav said ''I hope so.'' UNI/MV/SR VV SSC PM1935
