Saplings planted to mark 4th Military World Games
Kochi, July 8 (UNI) To mark 100 days still to go for the 4th Military World Games in Hyderabad, the Southern Naval Command today undertook a tree plantation and beautification drive at Willington Island, Fort Kochi and Thevara here.
Naval personnel from INS Venduruthy planted saplings from Thevara to Atlantis Junction and carried out the beautification along the railway embankment adjoining the naval base, an official release said.
Southern Naval Command Chief of Staff RAdm Sunil Lanba planted a sapling at the War Memorial in the naval base to mark the occasion.
At Fort Kochi, INS Dronacharya naval base undertook greening drive of the area around the Fort Kochi Parade ground in which the local MLA Ibrahim Kunju and naval personnel of INS Dronacharya planted saplings along the sides of the parade ground and in the naval base.
