Santosh trophy venue shifted in Kashmir
Srinagar, May 28: The organisors of the 62nd Santosh trophy had to change the main venue Bakshi stadium to Kashmir university ground, a spokesman of the J and K Football Association said.
He said the Bakshi stadium ground has developed some minor damages at some places due to heavy rains for the past one week.To avoid any major damage to the ground, where all knock-out matches from quarter finals would be held, the organisors have decided to shift remaining league matches to Kashmir University ground. However, matches scheduled to be played at Polo ground will be held normally, he said.
In reply to a question he said some technical damage has been caused to ground due to uncertain weather conditions. The repair of the damage has already been undertaken, he said.
He said the decision to shift the matches to University ground has been taken in consultation with All India Football Federation (AIFF).
