Salgaocar holds Dempo 1-1, retains top position

Panaji, Oct 7 (UNI) Salgaocar held table toppers Dempo Sports Club to 1-1 draw and split points in the GFA Professional Football League championship match, being played on Tilak ground at Vasco in South Goa.

Robert Mendes de Silva scored for Dempo Sports Club, while Anil Kumar restored parity for Salgaocar Sports Club to level the score 1-1.

Churchill Brothers edged out Sporting Club de Goa 2-1 and gained full points in another match played at Duler ground, Mapusa in North Goa.

Odafe Okolie and Thangjam Singh scored for Churchill Brothers, while Bonaface Ambani scored the lone goal for Sporting Club de Goa.

At the end of the eleventh round, Dempo retained its position at the top of the table with 26 points, while Churchill Brothers moved on to the second spot with 24 points, relegating Sporting Club de Goa to third place with 23 points and Salgaocar was at the fourth place with 20 points.
