Salgaocar Goa champions, Viva draw with ONGC

Kozhikode, Apr 8 (UNI) Viva Kerala held ONGC Mumbai to a 3-3 draw in the last match of the second division of National Football League (NFL) here today.

However, Salgaocar Goa, which topped the table with 11 points, was declared champion.

The Goan team and Viva, which stood second, have already qualified for the first division of NFL.

Taking a pass from Shineraj, K Shyju scored the first goal for Viva in the sixth minute and went on to increase the score to 2-0 in the 42nd minute.

In the next minute, Tariff Ahmed opened the account for ONGC utilising a penalty kick. Later, Nigerian Baba Thunde converted a spot kick for Viva in the beginning of the second half taking the score to 3-1.

Capitalising on a pass, Tariff Ahmed, substitute for Rakshak Naik, earned the second goal for the Mumbai side and the equaliser came from Tariff utilising a pass from Cycriaw in the 83rd minute making the final tally to 3-3.
