Sail National Ranking Table Tennis Championship begins tomorrow

Patna, Oct 11 (UNI) More than 800 players from 22 states, Union territories and top national level sports organisations across the country will be seen in action in the five-day SAIL National Ranking Table Tennis Championship which begins here tomorrow.

Among the top level players who have already confirmed their participation in the tourney are fromer national champions Poulmi Ghatak, Mouma Das in the women's section and Subhajit Saha in the men's section besides top class international players like Anirban Das, Pratik Mehta and Sharath Kamal.

The 22 states and leading sports organisations participating in the tournament are Maharashtra, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Orissa, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Uttranchal, Chattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat besides Air India, Petroleum Sports Boards and Indian Oil.

Steel, Chemicals and Fertiliser Minister Ram Vilas Paswan will inaugurate the tournament which will continue till October 16, sources here today informed.
