Roy-Doanld pair enters boys' doubles quarters at Oz Open
Melbourne, Jan 23 (UNI) Eighth seeds Rupesh Roy and his Australian partner Stephen Donald came back from a set down to beat locals Jared Easton and Bernard Tomic 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 to enter the quarterfinals of the boys' doubles event at the Australian Open here today.
Roy and Donald will now take on the top seeded Czech-Slovakian pair of Roman Jebavy and Martin Klizan in the last eight.
The eighth seeds did not make a very smooth start in their second round match and were broken twice in the first set by their unheralded rivals, who held their serve and came up with more winners to clinch the opener in just 20 minutes.
The Indo-Australian pair, however, got its act together in the second and thrid set to seal the match in its favour.
Roy-Donald held serve in both the sets and converted two of the three break points that came their way to comprehensively beat the local favourites in just over an hour's time.
