Rovin romps into semi-finals

Mumbai, May 8 (UNI) The young and talented Rovin D'Souza fashioned a comfortable 3-1 win to advance to the semi-finals, in the Rexello Castors-Islam Gymkhana Open Handicap&Invitation Snooker Tournament 2007 at the Islam Gymkhana today.

D'Souza (+40) became the first to enter the last four when he ended Gaurav Prabhu's (+50) campaign following a 119-67, 84-119, 100-87, 107-70 win in the best-of-five frames quarter-finals.

There was exciting action in the pre-quarter-finals as Rahul Narang (+60) shocked the formidable Neil Vithlani (+30) 109-93, 112-65 in a best-of-three frames contest for one of the biggest upsets of the day.

In another close pre-quarter-final tie, Kaizad Dandiwala (+55) continued his fine run with an impressive 112-100, 102-95 win over Zulfikar Sarvi (+55).
