Rooney spends 40,000 pounds to send his family to Australia for a family reunion

London, July 20(ANI): English footballer Wayne Rooney has reportedly splashed out 40,000 pounds to send his mother and other family members, to attend a family reunion in Australia.

Though the 23 year-old was not able to attend the reunion, he made sure that his family members- mother Jeanette, dad Wayne Sr and his two brothers- attend the function in Australia, The Mirror.co.uk reports.

The Manchester United star is currently on a pre-season tour of the Red Devils to South Asia.

The family's three-week visit would cost Rooney just under half a week's wages for four 5,000 pounds first-class return flights and five-star hotel rooms.

The Rooney family are visiting Jeanette's brother Billy Morrey, who lives in Victoria. (ANI)
