Rookie Ishant gets India call to replace injured Munaf

New Delhi, May 18 (UNI) Promising Delhi pacer Ishant Sharma will replace injured Munaf Patel for the rest of the ongoing Bangladesh tour after the Baroda pacer was ruled out of the series today with a lower back pain.

''Munaf Patel has been declared unfit with pain in the lower back. So the team management has decided to send Munaf back and they have requested a replacement for him,'' BCCI Secretary Niranjan said in a release.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of Selection Committee, Dilip Vengsarkar in consultation with his colleagues has decided to send young Ishant Sharma to re-inforce the team.

Incidentally, it came as the second injury setback for India in a span of three days, after S Sreesanth was replaced by left-arm pacer R P Singh following a left calf injury.
