Roma sweep aside AC Milan to reach Italian Cup final
ROME, Feb 1 (Reuters) AS Roma cruised into the final of the Italian Cup when they swept aside AC Milan 3-1 to complete a 5-3 win on aggregate.
A place in the final - Roma's fourth in the last five years having finished runners-up to Milan in 2003 and Inter Milan in 2005 and 2006 - was a deserved reward for a polished performance, capped with goals by Brazilian winger Mancini, midfielder Simone Perrotta and playmaker David Pizarro yesterday.
It was a disappointing night for Milan, who cancelled out Mancini's early strike with a goal by Alberto Gilardino, but never found their rhythm.
In the final, Roma will play the winner of Thursday's semi-final between Inter Milan and Sampdoria. Inter lead 3-0 after the first leg.
