Robin reacts angrily to match fixing allegation

Chennai, Feb 8 (UNI) The former Indian Cricket all-rounder Robin Singh today reacted angrily to his name being linked to the alleged match fixing case involving the West Indian cricketer Marlon Samuels in the first ODI at Nagpur between India and West Indies last month.

Answering newspersons at the airport when he arrived here from Cuba, Robin said he could not understand why his name had figured in the match fixing controversy.

''It is all baseless. I do not know anything about it,'' was all that he said.

It may be recalled the Nagpur Police had submitted to Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recorded conversation between Samuels and bookie Mukesh Kochar, who sought information about the match from the West Indian cricketer.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has initiated action on this charge even as Mukesh denied the allegation that he had indulged in match fixing.
