'Repechage' hope for Round-1 loser Rajiv Tomar in 120-kg wrestling

Beijing, Aug 21 : Wrestler Rajiv Tomar, Indian top most wrestler in 120-Kg, failed to qualify after he lost to Steve Mocco of the US in Round one here this morning in the ongoing Beijing Olympics.

Tomar lost the first two rounds as he couldn't even score a single point against his tough American opponent at the Chinese Agricultural University Gymnasium.

Right from the beginning Mocco dominated the bout and got four points to win the round.

But, there is still a hope alive for Tomar on the 'Repechage' round, provided Mocco makes it to the finals.

On the similar lines, yesterday wrestler Sushil Kumar captured the bronze medal for India after 56 years in the 'Repechage' round of the men's 66-kg freestyle category.

Khashaba Jadhav of Karad, Maharashtra, was the last Indian wrestler to win an individual bronze in the Helsinki Olympics in 1952.
