Rane stresses need of awareness for National Games in Goa

Panaji, Oct 21 (UNI) Goa Legislative Assembly Speaker Pratapsingh Rane has expressed his serious concern over the present infrastructure of sports in the state.

Mr Rane was speaking at a seminar organised by the International Centre Goa and the Taleigao Chess Academy on the theme '' Duties and Reponsibilites of Sports Association'' at SAG Conference hall. He said the efforts put in so far to organise National Games 2011, were not enough.

He further added that 2011 is approching fast and preparation and enthusiasm is not yet visible in the state of Goa. He emphasised on the need to spread awarness regarding National Games 2011 in the state.

Day by day studies are becoming more and more complicated hence students in foreign countries are attracted towards the sports and are taking up as their career. Youth should take up sports as a profession for which some awareness should be created among youths and people, he added.
