R R Patil condoles Dilip Sardesai's death

Mumbai, July 2 (UNI) Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil has condoled the death of former India middle-order batsman Dilip Sardesai.

Mr Patil expressed sorrow at the cricketer's death and extended sympathies to the family of Mr Sardesai.

Sardesai is best known for his performance during the 1970-71 tour of West Indies and England where India registered their first away series win with major contribution by Sardesai.

Sardesai passed away following multiple organ failure at Bombay Hospital where he had been admitted due to a chest infection three weeks back. He was 68. He is survived by his wife, son and a daughter.
