Punjab girl creates new meet record in Nationals

Vijayawada, Nov 24 (UNI) Punjab girl Manipreet Kaur created a new meet record in shotput by throwing 13.83 distance in the Girls U-20 category shotput finals, bettering 12.99 by Applesh of Haryana on the opening day of the 'Reliance' 23rd Junior National Athletics Championship here today.

Haryana girl Nilam and B Anamica of Tamil Nadu secured second and third places respectively with 12.42 and 11.79.

In boys section U-16, Vijaya Singh of Delhi got first place with 14.65, while Arjun Kumar of Delhi and Karansingh of Haryana secrued second and third place with 14.35 and 14.24 respectively.
